I’ve been playing through Saints Row 4 since I bought it for $5 in a PSN sale. I have it on Steam and started it not long after it came out but I’ve gotten through a lot more of it on PS4.
Got through chapter 13 of Final Fantasy XV. 13 is infamously bad, but I haven’t seen much talk about how the later half of chapter 12 was also hot garbage. Luckily 14 starts off on the right foot, so here’s hoping the game regains it’s footing.
Once I wrap up FFVX I think I’m going to jump into Dishonored or Shadowrun, whatever I can complete b4 Zelda drops next month,
So for me this week I’m…uh…playing RE7 again? I’m trying to go for all the trophies, the only one I got left is beating the game on Madhouse, and since I discovered you can use all your unlockable overpowered weapons I’m doing a ‘genocide’ route killing every enemy I can. With any luck after this I’ll be able to rest that game for a bit until the DLC comes out (speedruns aside)
Also I’ll be playing more Nioh, DQ8, and maybe doing some Fire Emblem Blazing Blade (the first one we got for the GBA)
There’s a couple of games I wanna play, I likely won’t be able to do them all during my two weeks off but what I wanna play and have already started in some fashion is:
Dark Souls III (for a stream, preparing a character for the second DLC)
FURI (prep / practice for a potential LP)
Resident Evil 7 (Madhouse difficulty looks dope)
Resident Evil 4 (I finally got my hands on an uncensored copy)
Madhouse difficulty actually rules, just make sure you don’t play it for the first time like I almost did. It sets up expectations and routing changes assuming you’ve played it once before, and it’s way more impactful if you beat it once already
I’m gonna put Dark Souls III on hold since the final DLC comes out in March AFTER NieR Automata. So I’m probably gonna try and blitz through Drakengard 3 before Automata comes out, then go back to DS3 so I can fit all the DLC into my still-ongoing first playthrough.
Otherwise I’ve been playing Hyrule Warriors Legends on 3DS, and it’s real good despite crashing near the end of the last story mission.
Just finished Mark of the Ninja, which was rather nice. My controller didn’t quite work properly with it for some reason, but that was only a minor bother. Overall, I had a pretty good experience with it. I liked how the game rewards reconnaisance and a planned approach. Also all the movement options were very well designed, and of course the drawn art was gorgeous. I might go through it again eventually, because I do like stealth games a lot (even though I suck at them). Speaking of which, it’s that time of the year again where I should go through Thief 1-3. I love those games.
But right know I’m trying (emphasis on trying) to play Guacamelee, but once again it will only work with an XBox controller, and I’m too stupid to set my PS2 controller up with x360ce or joytokey. Or rather, I probably would figure it out evetually, I just can’t be bothered to fiddle with fucking menus for an hour until this shit works. So I’ll just borrow an XBox controller from a friend. I’ve never understood why developers often don’t put in the option to put in controller commands in the controller options. Is that so difficult to program?
I’ve been stuck on playing Pillars of Eternity recently, just so I can say I’ve finished the damn thing. I’ve spent like 30 hours on the game, but I haven’t even gotten farther than Defiance Bay. I don’t know what it is with Obsidian games, but I spend more time on them roleplaying and character creation than actually playing the game
I got The Witcher 3 for Christmas and I’ve been trying to get into it, but it just hasn’t been clicking. Part of it was that it felt like I had done a dozen sidequests but had yet to level up once. Thankfully I put in a bit more effort this weekend and finally leveled up some and killed that noonwraith at the abandoned well, and finished preparations for taking on the griffin. So I guess we’ll see how that goes.
Other than that I got an itch to replay AM2R (Another Metroid 2 Remake), so I started that again. Considering maybe doing an LP…?
Do some main quests first - they give substantially more XP than side quests do. Besides, doing the side quests is more for fun and seeing interesting little stories rather than just farming levels.
Witcher 3 is a game that revels in making the world a living, breathing place for you to travel through, and it does so brilliantly
I’m going to be switching between Nioh and For Honor a lot. Been finally clicking with Nioh and For Honor I’ve been wanting to get the full version of for quite a while. Might even LP it but I dunno if the game has enough content to it for an LP tbh. Plus every now and then jumping on Siege since the servers finally seem to be working.
Seeing as I’m laying off the Final Fantasy 14 because my laptop seems to be on it’s last legs and can’t take it anymore, I’m playing more Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World in the downtime waiting for new lappy to come. I’ve already played Yoshi’s Woolly World (mostly) with WordyBird but it’s nice being able to come back and play it for myself. Just gotta resist my perfectionist, collectionist urge sometimes.
Also those special levels are H.A.R.D. and I wish I had co-op going so that when I fall into a pit of spikes, I don’t have to restart.
Let’s be honest here. If we were playing co-op you’d just be throwing me into the spikes instead. Or the lava. Or the nearest enemy. My purpose in co-op is to be a reusable projectile, alas…
Still neck-deep in the Final Fantasy 14 hole at the moment. Advancing through Heavensward and getting the grind going for the final step of my Anima Weapon. Hasn’t been too bad so far, aside from burning an unholy hole in my pocket.
Oh who me? Nah. Totally not. Dunno what you are talking about.
I’ve gotten back into Granblue Fantasy for some reason. Probably because of how often I play PAD and Fire Emblem Heroes nowadays.
It’s an entertaining way to waste time.
Granblue’s a neat game, and I appreciate how gay it is (current event aside).
I’ve basically just been bouncing back and forth between PAD and Granblue for the last two months, since nothing is coming out that actually has my interest until March.
LUIGI REMEMBERS SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD. HE REMEMBERS THE LAVA STAR.
We defeated the rock things! IT WAS THE ONLY WAY!
Having ruined everything, it was time to move onto Mass Effect 2. I’ve been slowly getting rid of all my late-game ME bad habits, like standing out in the open while occasionally side stepping the heavier shots, spamming the pistol as much as humanly possible and using Lift on charging krogans just to watch them sail by harmlessly.
Got me an XBox pad, started playing Guacamelee. Pretty nice so far, in terms of design and gameplay (although I suck massively at combat that requires any kind of button combos). Rather full of dated memes though. Guess that’s what I get for playing the game years after it’s come out. Still, there’s a few funny things in there. Once I’m done, I might go through the game again and set the dialogue to spanish, that could be fun.
