You See That Wall? You Can Go Through It - Let's Play Rainbow Six Siege

War games are about as close as can make sense but I really just think they didn’t intend for there to be any real connection to the story.

Let’s be honest,Mira used to use a different code name and called the black mirror something else until sh watched Black Mirror for the first time.

“This is it,my gimick!”
“you aren’t allowed in Rainbow without one!”

Hasn’t watched black mirror, sweating trying to interpret this
Yeah Black Mirror is it! I like that, TV show. Netflix, um, fuck fuck fuck, look its about mirrors right?

“Mira” is Spanish for “view”, “scope” (as in a gun’s scope) or “see” (as an imperative).

Also, how the heck does her black mirror pierce through reinforced walls, what the hell.

It’s why a lot of people first theorized she was going to be a sniper. I should also try and find again the multimedia stuff with her and Tachanka about how she built the shield on his gun for him.

Update 7

Another new face to Team Rainbow is the operator Jackal. Jackal is a part of the new Spanish CTU which was added during the Velvet Shell update. He is a powerful operator with all around viability who is able to track enemies by their footprints. He is a hard counter to most roamers and can easily hold his own in a firefight.

JACKAL
Unique Ability: Eyenox Model III. Tracking eyewear that locates targets by revealing and identifying recent footprints.
Armor: 2
Speed: 2
Operator Name: Ryad Ramirez Al-Hassar
Nickname: Jackal
Date of Birth: February 29th, 1968
Place of Birth: Ceuta, Spain
Height: 1.90m
Weight: 78kg
Background: Pushed from one family to the netx, Ryad emerged from the foster care system when his older brother, Faisal Remirez, turned 18 and became his legal guardian.
Blaming his shortcomings for the loss of his older brother, Ramirez decided to join the Policia Nacional. He passed the mandatory ESO (Secondary studies) and became a CNP (Cuerpo Nacional de Policia) at 19 years old. He is still investigating in his brother’s case and to this day, but was unable to find any solid evidence against his brother’s murderer.
With strong resolve and broad resourcefulness in difficult terrains, Ramirez joined the Grup Especial de Operaciones (G.E.O.) to track down HVTs and intercept narcotics shipments.

Psychological Profile: Suffers from chronic insomnia. Ramirez is at risk of developing acute symptoms such as muscular weariness, hallucinations, and/or double vision. He must be monitored closely.
.
Training:
Tactical Tracking Course for Law Enforcement;
Trans Sahara (OEF-TS) - Multinational Training Courses: Counter Tracking Training
Crime Scene Track Interpretation Course;
Specialized Combat Diving Course;

Relevant Experience:
Cuerpo Nacional de Policia;
Grupo Epecial de Operaciones (G.E.O);
2002 tracket a series of HVT for the International Tribunal or former Yugoslavia in the Hague;
2004 Madrid train bombing;
2009 Indonesia, Temanggung;

Notes: Ramirez’s insomnia results from the events that occurred on October 8th, 1985. Our experts have concluded that such trauma triggered an acute obsession with paterns in his immediate environment, in which he can detect impressive amounts of irregularities. It should be noted, however, that he is ill-equipped to cope with letting a target go free. He internalized the belief that he lost everything when he failled t follow the man who killed his brother.

That psych profile does not paint Jackal as particularly stable. I wouldn’t want someone with chronic insomnia as part of my super special counter-terrorist squad.

Neat detail, Jackal’s HUD while using his gimmick is in Spanish.

As long as it’s being managed like any problem I’d be fine with it.

Oh I actually didn’t notice that thanks for pointing it out!

Yeah, if it’s being properly handled it’s fine. I just instinctively don’t trust the somewhat shady, technically black-ops RAINBOW to care too much about stuff like handling mental health issues.

Wait till we get to operators who are more blatantly bad people. One specializes in torturing people. Caveira.

Also I’m reminded it’s time for a poll for the next operator to cover! I’ll also do a supplementary video as others have suggested of a map to add a bit more.

Is there an option to just hug an operative?

Jackal deserves one.

I’m glad they’ve started to give the operators more in depth backgrounds like his. I think it overall makes them a bit more interesting.

Edit: oh yeah here was the Mira and Tachanka reference. Its at the bottom.

Update 8

Introducing Blackbeard, a former powerhouse of Rainbow Six Siege who has been nerfed into just being viable. Blackbeard has a shield he can attach to his primary guns which can absorb a few bullets or even a shotgun blast protecting him in combat. One on one you have to hope you’re not going toe to toe with a Blackbeard because if you are he has the edge.

BLACKBEARD
Unique Ability: Rifle Shield. Has a backup mounted shield to swap if the first one gets damage.
Armor: 2
Speed: 2
Operator Name: Craig Jenson
Nickname: Blackbeard
Date of Birth: March 12, 1985
Place of Birth: Bellevue, Washingtno
Height: 1.80m
Weight: 84kg
Background: Jenson grew up in a comfortable upper middle class family with no military history. He decided that he wanted to be a Navy SEAL at a young age and devoted his life to achieving this goal. With the help of his father, a kinesilogy professor at University of Washington, he started training at twelve and enlisted in the Navy at eighteen.

Psychological Profile: The drive and discipline seen in SEAL team members is what drew Jenson to the group. He sees SEALs as an ideal blend of mental and physical abilities and strives to optimize both of these traits in himself.
.
Training:
NAVY Diver
Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training, Airborne jump school, Search and Rescue swimmer, CQB courses at Quantico

Relevant Experience:
Support role in counter-piracy operations during the Maersk Alabama Hijacking of 2009.
Deployed in Afghanistan
Took part in the raid of MV Morning Glory in Libya

Notes: None

I apologize for the slow time updating. Siege has been having a lot of connection issues on PS4, I also think I’m going to try and keep updates to once a week now since I was kinda of doing too many at once and burning myself out. This is much more manageable.

Guess what? Over a year ago I started this LP and it went unfinished due to a lot of technical problems and burnout on the game. As I am now on PC a lot of those limitations are gone, as well I can show off more of the game as there are now more operators, maps, and I have people to assist me. That’s right then, it’s time to revive Let’s Play Rainbow Six Siege!

So stay tuned for the return with the new Operation Para Bellum!

Update 9

You’ve met him, you’ve seen him, most squads can’t live without him, it’s time for Thermite. Thermite is a pillar of Rainbow Six Siege and is one of the most commonly used operators in the game. He carries Thermite breaching charges which can melt through and blow open reinforced walls and floor panels.

THERMITE
Unique Ability: Brimstone BC-3 Exothermic Charge. Sets up an Exothermic charge that destroys reinforced walls/floors.
Armor: 2
Speed: 2
Operator Name: Jordan Trace
Nickname: Thermite
Date of Birth: March 14th 1982

After his discharge, he used his GI Bill money to put himself through college at Texas A&M and earned a Bachelor Degree of Science in Chemistry. He then joined the FBI. After four years as a field agent, he transferred to FBI SWAT.

Psychological Profile: Regimented, disciplined, orderly, these are the words people use to describe Trace. He knows when to relax, especially in social situations. He takes pride in knowing all of the variables. Trace prefers to be the one in control rather than leave things to chance.

Training:
USMC Close Quarters Battle School
USMC Methods of Entry
USMC Helicopter and Rope Suspension Techniques Master Course (HRST)
Texas A&M: Bachelor of Science, Chemistry
FBI Field Agent
FBI SWAT

Relevant Experience:
Two tours of duty in Iraq.
Fleet Antiterrorism Security Teams (FAST)

That’s right, Rainbow Six Siege is back in LP form! I apologize for the long break, there were technical difficulties mixed in with some burn out. I will be redoing old operator episodes as they’re woefully out of date and work to show off Year 1, 2, and 3, operators.

The Originals.

Year 1.

Year 2.

And Year 3.

Update 10

Welcome to the House, located in Los Angeles, California, the House is one of the earliest maps put into Rainbow Six Siege. We can actually see an earlier version of it in the E3 footage of it shown in 2014.

House went through quite a decent amount of changes but ultimately kept most of its layout and structure. It is also used in situation number 2, Suburban Extraction.

House is comprised of three floors, and for attackers technically a fourth which is the roof. This map is one of if not the smallest in the game and features a small amount of the suburbs including trees and cars to use for cover as the attackers. Outside are raised platforms that can be used for sniping but they are ultimately quite vulnerable and make for easy places for explosives or peakers to get whoever is using them.

As one of the most destroyable buildings in the game outside of perhaps the Favelas, House is dangerous for defenders and attackers alike as people can easily come from a variety of directions. Wall Reinforcements are mostly useful for the bottom level and provide less help on the first and second floors.

Instead defenders most often roam the level, making attackers clear House bit by bit. Characters with long range abilities can really help the attackers hold positions as the much of the level is visible through windows and openings, though closer range operators still have the help of its confined corners and easy to traverse design.

House used to be a common map seen in ranked but at this time it is out of the ranked rotation, and instead it is mostly seen in casual and terrorist hunt modes.

Update 11 - Dokkaebi

Coming from a long ways away it is Dokkaebi. This mischievous hacker and techno nerd was added to Rainbow Six Siege with Operation White Noise. Where others might have a bit more brawn Dokkaebi is all brains. With her she carries devices capable of releasing Logic Bombs which cause enemy cellphones to emit loud noises giving away their position. As well she can take a fallen enemy’s phone and use it to hack into their cameras.

Dokkaebi

Unique Ability: Logic Bomb. Uploads a virus that forces enemy phones to emit a low buzz that can be overheard, thereby potentially compromising an enemy’s position.
Armor: 2
Speed: 2
Operator Name: Grace Nam
Nickname: Dokkaebi
Date of Birth: February 2nd 1988
Place of Birth: Seoul, South Korea
Height: 1.69m
Weight: 62kg
Background: Grace, named for the incomparable actress Grace Kelly, always broke expectations, even when it meant she stuck out somehow. She scavenged or bought spare components to build her own computers. She played soccer with the neighborhood boys and got into fights with them, but it was her sharp tongue that landed her in trouble with her teachers. She looked and acted like a troublemaker, so they tried to force her to conform to expectations. To survive, Grace learned to soften her image, to better play with and manipulate preconceptions; she bought fake glasses and adopted the geek girl persona.

Grace’s skills earned a National Scholarship at KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), but after graduating decided to join the Army. Her athleticism and daring paid off, and she was assigned to the ROK Army Special Warfare Command before earning a spot in the 9th Special Forces Brigade known as the Ghosts. Despite her unorthodox behavior within the highly disciplined ROK army, she gained notice for her exemplary tech skills and for being highly adaptable to situations. After Grace participated in joint training with Detachment K Green Berets, the American instructors encouraged her to try out with the 707th Special Mission Battalion: White Tigers.

The White Tigers were a better fit for her skills, but Grace inadvertently butted heads with Major General Kuh, an old guard soldier with political ties all the way up to the Blue House, who followed orders to the letter and expected unflinching loyalty from his subordinates. Kuh made life difficult for Grace, preventing her from exploiting her full potential.

Grace heard about Rainbow during training exercises with the SAS, and it sounded like the opportunity she had been seeking… the chance to contribute through her strengths. She knew that Major General Kuh would never put her on the list, so she did what she always did and thought outside of the box.

[[PARAGRAPH REDACTED]]

Now Dokkaebi is a member of Rainbow much to the surprise of Major General Kuh, who is not happy about it. He wants her drummed out of the White Tigers, but Dokkaebi could not be happier. She is among men and women who reward asymmetrical thinking even though she knows she now has a target on her back. More so, she is sure the other ROK operator, Chul Kyung Hwa, is spying on her. She needs to work twice as hard, but Grace feels twice as motivated now.

Psychological Profile: Grace plays with expectation because she wants people to underestimate her, but it is different with Rainbow. Before she knew how to control the situation and was never afraid of failure until the stakes became this critical. Rainbow Six was her most daring stunt and she knows she’s alienated herself from the Korean military; any slip up and this point will see her drummed out of the military entirely, and this has added pressure to perform, improve, and succeed.

Training:
KAIST
9th Special Forces Brigade
Detachment K Green Berets
707th Special Mission Battalion

Relevant Experience:
Operation Burnt Fuse
ROK Cybershield
Operation Deep Vein

Notes:
Grace is sure that Chul Kyung Hwa was asked to monitor her, and it certainly does not help that he keeps telling her how to behave. In her books, he represents the old school thinking from the ROK Military but he does not seem distracted by her geek persona. She tries to remain civil, but she knows her stuff and does not appreciate him trying to “correct her behavior.” Grace is on friendly terms with Echo, both of who connect on matters of technology, but they also get competitive when it comes to outdoing each other in the workshop.

Grace utilizes the Ballistic Armor Military Laptop, codenamed Logic Bomb, which she uses to hack enemy PDA tactical devices. The program downloads a virus of her making that can bypass firewalls, turning surrounding devices on and emitting a loud buzzing noise to compromise an enemy’s position. The program is short and self-erasing to prevent anyone from unraveling her code and building software to counter Logic Bomb.

Really neat character, loadout is super interesting.

Is it me or is this video’s sound mixing kinda off? Like the game audio is a bit louder than normal? Had some issues hearing you over the in-game audio and voice chat.

Hmm you’re right, wasn’t like that in editing but it seems something went wrong. I’ll have to check VEGAS and see what’s up.
