Episode 142: The Devourer and Hope

Ende The Devourer returns for his rematch with us. Our specific challenge today is to defeat Ende in a single turn. It ends up not being a big deal, and we wipe out this HP sponge of all of his hit points and claim our victory.

Episode 143: The Iron Goddess and Love

Nevanlinna is back for a rematch. Actually, she’s happy to not fight as long as we teach her what love it. Of course, humans being embarrassed to speak of their own love and hemming and hawing, causes Nevanlinna to think we’re conspiring against her to keep her in the dark. She splits into five copies of herself and we need to 5v5 her.

Forgot to post last time, so here’s a double header:

Episode 144: On To a Never Ending Battle

We’re back on Earth celebrating the alliance between the humans and the saurians. However, it’s all a sham! Emperor Gore has allied with the Infernal Alliance. However, Kamui also has his own plans, and he betrays the emperor. On top of that, Echika and Cross had forseen the sudden but inevitable betrayal, and prepared accordingly.

Kamui faces off against us in the BUG that McDonald told him about. Once we beat it, Getter Saint Dragon, released from the Getter Labs, comes down and attacks us.

Episode 145: Justice is on My Side

We’re finally back into DLC 2. It’s been a hot minute since we made any progress there. Exis invited us to a remote area to talk to us about his true enemy, but it turns out, his true enemy is us! Someone call Admiral Ackbar, because “It’s a TRAP!”

Episode 146: A Guardian’s Purpose

The final showdown against Exis. He claims to be a true hero, and that we are the cause of the distortions of war on Earth. He vows to defeat us and NOAHs. However, we soon learn the truth is much darker.

We’re back after a long hiatus. Sorry about that. Home renovations are a pain and they suck up all of your time and money. I’m still not done, but I can’t fall any further behind here. The two halves of this stage were recorded 9 days apart. That tells you how busy I was (and then also got sick).

Episode 147: NOAHS’ Upheaval

With all of the losses, that NOAHS has taken, things are shaken up. Ru Negsis stages a coup and takes over the Ra Valian Forces. Drake Luft takes over as the leader of NOAHS, and a traitor is revealed among our ranks. However, it’s an incredibly unstable situation that was orchestrated by Izana.

Episode 148: Past, Present, and Future

We’re stuck defending the ruins while we’re under attack. The Infernal Alliance leads the attack with a surprise appearance of Toenko and the Insectors.

The attack focuses on Animus Beast Midolo, and there’s a secret enemy that joins the attack later on…

Episode 149: Reliquest: Relics of Harmony

We’ve finally reached Chapter 7, and that unlocked a bunch of missions. We have Relics, Side “DLC” missions, and all the missions unlocked with the expansion pass.

We’ll start off with the Relics. We are hilariously overlevelled for the relics, and we burn through them easily.

Episode 150: Reliquest: Relics of Gold

We’ve got more relics to grab. This time it’s the next set of Relics of Gold. We have some touching interaction between Cross, Forte, and Echika. It’s really cute.

We continue the work of catching up after my last break. We’re still one week behind. But one week of daily releases will get us back on target.

Episode 151: Contact

Now that we’ve reached Chapter 7, we’re going to completely ignore chapter 7, and work purely on DLC 3. We’ve got a lot to take care of. First and foremost is the preview stage. We don’t actually get any of the units here, we just get preview versions of them so entice people to buy the expansion pass.

Episode 152: Space Runaway

We’ve reversed our normal procedures. Zappa normally starts with the Super Robots, and I start with the real robots, but I have fond memories of watching Ideon, and I love the theme song, while Zappa doesn’t. So I get to lead with Ideon.

Episode 152: On the Run

Back to the real-ish robots. We have Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution. I haven’t seen the movies, but it’s apparently a reboot/compilation/explanation movie series that ties all of the various Eureka Seven media into a single coherent timeline. Eureka is in Warsaw protecting a girl named Iris that looks like a younger clone of herself. She’s also really annoying.

Episode 154: The Intrepid Angel Smiles

We keep collecting the new characters from the DLC, and immediately pushing them up to Ace. This time, we have Ange as our new guest unit. Turns out she’s far more crafty than she lets on. Specifically showing up in a way to get rescued by the A Advent. Ultimately, she wants to join us so she can get what she needs to go back to her world.

Episode 155: Enter the Ginga Bishounen

Time for the Ginga Bishounen to enter the stage. We get a little background info about the setting of Star Driver and how they’re no longer trapped on their island. Of course, Eureka and Iris continue to be chased by the androids.

It’s a fun little stage, and I’m having fun voicing Takuto.

Episode 156: Idol and Master

It’s time for the final intro mission. We have Idolmaster Xenoglossia showing up and with it Haruka and Imber. She’s much better than us at destroying asteroids, although once the enemy shows up, she needs our help to fight them off.

Episode 157: Two Eurekas

Now that we’ve dealt with the appearance of all of the previous DLC series, we move onto the first act conclusion. Eureka and Iris have run into every other team so far on their episodes, and didn’t join us on their episode. However, now through a little convincing, and Ange’s enhance convincing, we have Eureka and Iris officially join the team, wrapping up the first chapter of DLC 3.

Episode 158: Special Mission: Battle Rush 1

We’re getting trolled by inter dimensional entities again! This time, Iris, a Keeper of Dimensions appears on the A. Advent Bridge and digitizes us into a virtual world. To be clear, this is a different Iris than the Iris from Hi-Evolution. This one is a fairy-elf that seems to know Caruleum. He chides her for abandoning her duties, but realizes he’d be a hypocrite to push it any further.

We’re taken into a fight against 10 waves of strong enemies, and each one we need to clear in a single turn. This is somewhat of an endurance match, but also we need to make sure we pump out enough damage each turn and have enough utility spells to keep us going.

Episode 159: Annina’s Rage

Annina is angry at what is happening to Echika. Echika is becoming much more independent and headstrong compared to previously. She is very much upset at how we are corrupting “her Echika”.

Episode 160: Mina’s Gift

Another DLC sidestory for chapter 7. Mina’s still feeling bad about how she had treated Echika previously. Kallen and Allenby meet her at work, and they for a plot together. Mina knows a small bakery that has a delicious cake. She gets a team of girls and treats them to a trip to the bakery. They also get some cake to bring back as a treat for Echika.

I’m finally caught up! It feels so nice. We can go back to every other day releases and stay up to date with Zappa. Phew!

Episode 161: A. Advent Sports Festival

There’s been enough fighting for now, and we need something to celebrate. Another Valkurie concert isn’t special enough. Instead, we decide to have a Mech Baseball game. Of course, we end up having no luck as we get attacked right before the game can start. Still, it was quite humorous.

Episode 162: The Cosmos and the Earth

The Ideon team is completely failing to integrate into life on the A. Advent. Turns out, they think everyone is too soft, and they don’t want to get soft when they return to their dimension, and need to fight to protect the Solo Ship. Takuma behaves surprisingly maturely and tries to get them to open up, to some degree of success.

Instead, the challenge is changed to the arcade, and Allenby soundly defeats her.
