Let's Play Mouse Guard: a Six Feats Under campaign

I see that Lilly graduated from the school of confusion fu when it comes to trying to interrogate people.

I’ve been doing 6FU music for a while, but I’ve never really talked about the process. This session has a piece that I really like and that I thought might be a good example (it’s shorter than a lot of the Mouse Guard pieces), so I put something together that’s just the music and score with written notes and commentary regarding style, process, narrative, etc. If anyone happens to have an interest in the Mouse Guard music and how it interacts with the game, here you go.

Thank you for putting so much thought and effort into a wonderful piece of music to cover up that I took way too long to get the adventure going in that one.

I started listening to Mouse Guard last week and my heart is not strong enough to withstand the South/West Patrol family, please do more of it.

This is making me wanna play this game.

I cant imagine Lilly ever getting in trouble for saying anything. If she can literally say “Mafia” out loud while writing it down, she can do anything.

Summer 06 - East Patrol Has Three Days

With only a few days to prepare, East Patrol must push themselves to meet the deadline and move the caravan out to Wildseed. There’s a lot to do and no time to do it, but the Guard keeps their heads high and their spirits positive in the face of all adversity!

Francisca is played by Riley. Marx is played by Gnome. Tander is played by Drakkel. And our Games Mouse is Grant.

Music performed by Thylacinus. Today’s episode was edited by Riley.

Summer 07 - West Patrol Finds Forbidden Love

West Patrol continues to investigate this murder mystery, but there’s more to this case meets the eye. Between the mouse mafia, the mysterious witness Robin, and Rosalee’s true motive, our heroes find a truth they never expected.

Lily is played by Eliza. Sable is played by Arden. Isolde is played by Poor Weather. Zeke is played by Devious Vaccuum.

And our Games Mouse is Grant.

Music performed and scored by Thylacinus. Today’s episode was edited by Grant.

Honestly kind of with Zeke and isolde on the trial bit of “Why are we interfering like this, and not just giving the information we found over?”. It would have changed the nature of the trial, arguments could be made for delaying.

Finally getting around to listening to the new episode and god, the awkwardness between Lily and Sable trying to bring up the matter of Sable’s past is so good. The rest of the episode is fantastic as well, but that part just really stuck out for me.

I loved the trial but I have bad news for West Patrol: They’ve all been replaced by Robin as my favorite mouse.

I can understand Isolde thinking there is a possibility that they are being played. But there’s evidence to suggest it’s all true. So I think everything is in the clear.

Guide to the Territories pt8: Gwendolyn

The Guard is always led by a Matriarch, and the current Matriarch is Gwendolyn. She was the youngest to become Matriarch on record. Her predecessor died suddenly. That means some of the more senior mice have more field experience than the one commanding them, but at the time of our campaign over 1/3 of Guardmice were inducted during her tenure.

Gwendolyn is capable and committed. She has the best interests of all at heart. I can promise that, in this campaign, she’s not going to have a heel turn. Gwendolyn’s the real deal, not a would-be tyrant biding her time. A FCBD story shows her in the future retiring from duty to raise a family with Saxon. In the RPG, she has the Graceful, Compassionate, Determined, and Wise traits. Her best skills are Persuader and Mouse Guard-Wise at 6 each. (Her stats are kind of nuts. She is HIGHLY qualified.)

You can download a papercraft model of Gwendolyn here, and see a video on the model of her office David Petersen uses as reference here:

Summer 08 - East Patrol’s Rocky Roads

The East Patrol has reached the most dangerous obstacle in their escort mission - stony, open cliffs. Without any kind of foliage or tree cover, there’s nothing between the refugees and an open sky full of hungry birds. And as Marx, Tander, and Francisca quickly discover, these cliffs hide more than just birds…

I have this brief idea that Francisca during the bandit fight started yelling “Feel the blood rage” or just frothing at the mouth. Which is why her inspiring speech failed later because everyone was absolutely terrified of murder mouse, and losing some of their stuff.

Summer 09 - West Patrol and the Spider Grove

Trigger warning: Arachnophobia. There’s a lot of talk of spiders in this episode and the next West Patrol episode.

West Patrol’s mail route takes them to Woodstuff’s Grove, deep in the swampy borderlands. The spider farms found here provide silk for all the Territories, and the man in charge, Mayor Cavre, gives our heroes a warm welcome. Or at least, he does once he finds out they have nothing to do with that terrible arsonist, Marx…

Lily is played by Eliza. Sable is played by Arden. Isolde is played by Poor Weather. Zeke is played by Devious Vaccuum.

And our Games Mouse is Grant.
Music performed and scored by Thylacinus. Today’s episode was edited by Riley.

And if you back us on Patreon, don’t forget to vote in our next Backer Control Poll! Poptart’s last day is tomorrow - starting Monday, a new character will take over the @SixFeatsUnder twitter account.

It seems like you’re going to go through an entire adventure in spider town without mentioning the world’s greatest two-word phrase: orb weavers. It refers to any spider that makes circular Charlotte’s Web type webs, which includes most American web builders.

Summer 10 - East Patrol Weathers The Storm

After their trouble with bandits, East Patrol is feeling gloomy. But so is the weather, and they need to keep up the pace if they want to get anywhere before a sudden summer storm hits. Round up the wagons, because this one’s coming down hard!

I am on episode nine, but I wanted to say how much I love spider livestock.

Imagining in universe memes for them the same way we do with cats and dogs. Just, pictures of spiders inside boxes. “when you ask the spider what it’s chewing on and then they start chewing faster.” putting various clothing and accessories on them.

Summer 11 - West Patrol Robs The Mayor

Mayor Cavre is hiding the mail, and West Patrol commits themselves to getting it back and delivering it all personally. They find out a lot more about Woodstuff’s Grove than they wanted, and make a new enemy along the way…
