Haha hey @Fefnir there’s a Ska cover of the Pokemon Red/Blue theme.
Lieutenant Surge has been defeated, which means it’s time to move on! Or at least it would be, but we’re going down the path that we’ve been told is blocked off. Will we be surprised by the end result? No. We will not.
We’ve gone down the dead end, so now it’s time to make progress! To get to Lavender Town, Hotaru heads down Route 9, the only route not blocked off by a Snorlax. It is, however, swarming with trainers, as is the norm.
Part 14: A Stop at Rock Tunnel
Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit’s Rock Tunnel.
Oh no. It’s Rock Tunnel.
Part 15: Char vs the Forces of Route 8
Detours upon detours! Hotaru arrives at Lavender Town, but with the tower currently haunted by uncatchable spirits, the only way to go from here is through Route 8. Which, really, is basically the same thing. Just with many trainers loitering about instead of ghosts.
I completely forgot that Grimer the Muppet and Arson the Fire Type Move were in the same episode.
RIP Rambling Gambling Dude
Part 16: Take Me Down to Celadon City
Today, we visit Celadon City. There we meet people who are essentially our gods, observe the corruption deeply embedded in the local economy, and gamble. But hey, we get a cute new Pokemon, so it’s not all bad.
How dare you
With the worst of Celadon City out of the way, Hotaru ventures down into Team Rocket’s underground hideout. Just what does she hope to find? Probably nothing in particular, but there’s gotta be something helpful in a gangster hideout, right?
Team Rocket’s operations in Celadon have… well they’re still operating that casino, but we’ve done enough to not feel guilty about the whole thing. Now, we can move on to Celadon Gym, home of many plants. And wouldn’t you know it, we’ve got a bird and a fire dog, both arch-nemeses of nature. Erika is basically guaranteed to not have a good time.
Part 19: OverGast Weather at the Haunted Tower
Thanks to the Silph Scope obtained from stopping one Team Rocket operation, Hotaru can finally climb up Pokemon Tower to stop another. But with numerous ghosts stopping her progress, can she make it up the tower in time to… uh… save Mr. Fuji from being… talked to for… some reason. Look we’ve had other cities to save, okay?
There’s also this. What if there was just a human-ass zombie in Pokemon Tower? I know that doesn’t make sense because the tower is just gravestone markers for people’s pets, but just go with it.
Oh hey, it’s that dumb joke I made during the video.
We arrive at a new town, and you know what that means: ignoring the very, (and I mean so very incredibly obvious,) threat and doing everything else we possibly can. Which is limited, given the current gang occupation, but does involve going to a gym*!
*Said gym is no longer officially recognized due to the beat down they received from the gym next door.
So.
Silph Co.
It’s got a bed, because when you’re here, you’re here forever.
Haiyu went through some shit, but she was able to sell the movie rights, at least.
Me, last night: Oh yeah, next video’s gonna be up tomorrow. Better remember that!
Me, right now at 2:46: oh right fuck
Saffron City is saved, which means no more Silph Co! But now, we move on to the city’s gym. And, given Gen 1 made Psychics OP, Hotaru will be facing her greatest challenge yet. Can she defeat Sabrina? Well I mean yeah the possibility exists. Just don’t ask how many alternate realities there are in which she doesn’t, because I don’t want to talk about them.
Part 23: Cycling Road of Violence
Hotaru moves on to Fuchsia City. But there’s one problem: there’s two different roads leading to it! Today, we’ll be tackling Cycling Road, the first of the two paths. It’s a steep slope to the bottom, with plenty of punks ready to get in our way. If nothing else, this should be a great workout for Hotaru.
Hey, do you like routes? Well, what if I told you that you could have not one, not two, not even three, but four routes on this path to Fuchsia City? That’s right, we’re covering routes 12-15 all in one go! It’s… it’s a lot. Take Cycling Road instead, kids. It’s shorter by far.
These Pokedex entries are bringing me immeasurable joy.
