post near puns in this thread; NIER AUTOMATA

How I did it was dash off ground > Jump > Jump and hold to glide > pod kick > 3 light melee attacks. Make sure to go there with 9S because you have to hack it open.

I think so.

I think that chest is the last thing I can do before I head to the story quest so i’ll just keep trying it til I get it tonight.

Mechanics chat: Anybody else feel the lose all chips on death really pointless? It doesn’t really add anything to the game and just wastes time on a retry to grab your previous chips.

Well that’s Ending C done and i’ve unlocked chapter select.

I’ve got like a couple of side quests i’ve missed early on that i’ll go do but I think I got most of the chests in the game.

Welp that’s Nier Automata…

Guess I wont be doing 100% in that file.

Thank you for reinforcing the game’s message and themes with your heroic sacrifice!

I was too much of a wimp to do it. Too hard.
I accepted help and that meant somebody dropped all their data so I figured I’d do the same.

It’s a real nice change from the first game. It was cool asking you not to just sacrifice data for the final ending or for a in-game character but to help another player around the world reach the end.

That said I give it maybe a day before I go back and try start a 100% run.
Un-spoilering it cause this is a bad quest but there is a very late quest that requires you to have 95% unit data to complete it and it sucks hunting some of the rarer enemies, some of which only have a chance to appear in certain places.
As far I know, it’s actually not possible to do without accepting help, and you can accept help more than once, hence reinforcing the theme of relying on and connecting with others in order to get through things you can’t possibly do alone.
Actually, it’s possible.

Yeah I figured it’s possible, just really, really damn hard. I wasn’t far off from the end before I just had huge issues with it.

Wow, mad props to anyone who can manage that alone! I legitimately didn’t think it’d be possible, but I also kinda suck at the shooting/hacking segments. Made 9S pretty, uh… interesting to play.

9S was how I did all of the side-quests. Hacking is crazy broken.

Talking about this game in work and i’m trying

not to drop that my save file is gone, but at least point out how neat all the unlocks are.

Oh no, i did that lol(after so many retries it flat out told me to just take the help). I meant sacrificing my save data to help others. I’m too stubborn.

You heartless monster

Just finished the prologue of Route C.

Why does everything keep happening?

I finished it.

I Didn’t delete my save because I want to 100% it and then delete it

Pretty good. Unsure if I like it or Nier more

I’m not very far, being caught up with work and life bullshit, but I wanted to know if there was any sidequest stuff to be aware of like the original Nier’s fifty-one percent of the sidequests in the first half of the game? Or do you get a chance to do all the sidequests on subsequent runs?

Completed side quests stay done on subsequent playthroughs. Only one optional thing is miss-able but it’s not easy to miss.

Spoilers if you don’t care about end-game content (not a plot spoiler, but a gameplay spoiler):

You unlock a chapter select after getting one of the endings that allows you to replay any section of the game. This means no side quests are miss-able and you don’t have to replay the whole game to 100%

Thank God for that because uh. Just got ending B and then went through the prologue of C and. Jesus Christ. jesus fucking christ.
