Week 58 - Road to Hellfire II
[timg]Imgur: The magic of the Internet
We continue with the first round match-ups of our ongoing Tournament. The most interesting thing to point out is that last year Mina beat Harmony Gray, this year’s top seed and is up against Suzan Blades, this years No. 2 seed. (Mina being the No. 31 seed herself).
I’ve included the predictions split. 9/0 for Sizan vs. Mina means that 9 people think Suzan will win, no one thinks Mina will win. I find some of these splits surprising. A lot of them, in fact. I mainly attribute Mr. Shakedown not getting more people on his side to him not having had a lot of singles matches lately.
For as long as VACANT is the Bunny Champ, the challengers will be voted in, much like we usually do for the VACANT Open Challenge.
Here’s the full card for all of you to see.
#1 Jabroni Royale Deathmatch
Suman (“c”) vs. Anus McMutton
Suman gasses himself out early on and Anus seals the deal with the Tru Bru.
#2 Hellfire Tournament Round 1 - 9/0
Suzan Blades vs. Mina Park
Shock and Horror, Suzan won!
Scene: Vacation Skeleton reminisces about the Tournament last year and how much fun they had. Then is reminded that they lost in the first round to Suzan Blades. Then the freaking Dashosphere shows up outta nowhere, straight up jump cuts into the room and reminds Vacation Skeleton of that one-sided grudge that’s apparently still going on and how there should be a match for that finally. There’s only one problem. For that to happen at the PPV Vacation Skeleton needs to lose either this week or next week.
#3 Hellfire Tournament Round 1 - 5/4
Koji Kojinaka vs. Vacation Skeleton
Shock and Horror, Vacation Sk… wait what? The predictions might make this seem closer than it actually was but mathematically the clear favorite was Koji. Still, Vacation Skeleton pulled through and aims to break hims promise to Dash by winning.
#4 Hellfire Tournament Round 1 - 4/5
Mr. Shakedown vs. Grace Thoruson
Shock and Horror Grace… uh… okay? Oof, they sure tore it down. Lots of back and forth. The tides only started to clearly shift in one direction when Grace hit the Saving Grace, but kickout, and another, but kickout. Mr. Shakedown doesn’t go down that easily but eventually he was locked inside the Koji Clutch and tapped.
#5 Hellfire Tournament Round 1 - 7/2
Malfest Goat-Monster vs. Hayley Simmons
Shock and Horror, Malfest Goat-Monster won… huh… wait, this actually is the expected result. We’ve had two upsets so far.
#6 Bunny Championship :3
Sgt. Sprinkles vs. VACANT
Sgt. Sprinkles gave it his all but VACANT is just too strong. But the sarge didn’t lose for a lack of trying. This is one of the longest VACANT matches we’ve had.
#7 Hellfire Tournament Round 1 - 5/4
Supreme Sadim vs. Maya Northwind
I’d continue with the shock and horror spiel but at this point you know that anything can happen, apparently. Such as this time when Maya defeated Sadim.
#8 Hellfire Tournament Round 1 - 8/1
Ryu vs. Guzma
Actually shock and horror this time in a genuine sense. Guzma defeats Ryu with a freaking Lariat and a cocky foot on chest pinfall. The longest reigning Darkweight Champion goes down like this? Guzma better deliver in the next round!
#9 Hellfire Tournament Round 1 - 8/1
Pantha vs. Arcade Legend Ass
You know what? I’ll just say it. This is an upset. ASS defeats the former and longest reigning Hellweight Champion, Pantha
#10 Hellfire Tournament Round 1 - 9/0
Freddie Hope vs. Manic Misanthrope
Well, mathematically this was even. According to the predictions Freddie was the clear winner. And Freddie won.
