It’s Mario and His Brother… Uh… Lugi? – Let’s Play Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Cackletta’s preparations for the Beanstar are complete, and the Mario Brothers seem like they’re going to arrive to the scene just a bit too late. Unless of course, something completely unexpected were to happen…

Looks like the main villain of the game is dead, which means the Mario Brothers have plenty of time and space to look for the Beanstar in the Hooniversity basement. Unless of course, a couple of sneaky thieves happen to be in the area as well…

Recovering the Beanstar hasn’t gone too well, but the Mario Brothers can’t worry about that now. They’ve landed on an island, inhabited by strange and unhelpful creatures. Now they must figure out a way to leave, which may or may not involve the two large temples in the center of the whole place.

With new powers in… hand? Is that too on the nose? Well whatever, Mario & Luigi have hand powers now, and will be using them to cross through the ocean. If you’re wondering how the Mario Bros can harness fire and electricity down here, just repeat to yourself that you’ve seen far weirder in this game, and you should really just relax.

The Mario Brothers are back on the mainland, and have already been pressed into fixing the BeanBean Kingdom’s problems. As it turns out, the airport had been taken over by Piranha Plants a while ago, but they left that as is because the Witch was a more pressing issue. But now it’s extremely relevant, as Princess Peach herself will be flying in to the kingdom soon enough. So, really, the Mario Bros. are kinda personally obligated to help on this one. It’s their monarch, after all.

Well the Beanstar is gone, but everything else is right in the world. So while Prince Peasley goes on reconnaissance to find that precious artifact, Princess Peach has decided to go sightseeing! And given the danger involved in getting to her destination, it’s obvious which pair of brothers are going to be called up to escort her.

Woah, It’s Geno: And Other Fun Stories From Little Fungitown.

Mario, Luigi and Peach have cleared TeeHee Valley, so it’s time to kick back and relax in Little Fungitown. It sure is nice to have the villain out of the way before the game’s finished!

Mario has been struck by food poisoning. And by food poisoning, I mean “he has been poisoned in such a way that he will undergo metamorphosis and become bean if not treated.” And the only one who can help him now is Princess Peach Mario’s cowardly brother Luigi, who was told there would be a monster at his destination. Can Luigi overcome his fear and save his brother? Or has he already made peace with having a bean brother?

Mario and Luigi’s… good times (?) in Little Fungitown have come to an end, now that Princess Peach has been kidnapped for real. Cackletta’s also made quite the comeback, turning this into a ransom situation. In order to save the Princess, (and calm Toadsworth’s nerves,) the Mario Brothers set out to look for the pieces of the Beanstar! The first one landed… right in Teehee Valley. Back to the desert it is!

Narrowly escaping a sinking ship, the Mario Brothers must continue their search for the Beanstar piece, which drifted away with the tide. But getting to it won’t be an easy feat, and now there’s a lot of beach for the brothers to cover. Ahem Wouldn’t it be nice to have a new ability to help us traverse said beach?

With new powers in… well, hand, the Mario Brothers have free reign to search the beach for the Beanstar. And absolutely nothing stands in their way anymore because the brothers are very strong. Sorry to anyone who may have wanted that Beanstar piece for themselves.

One Bean Star piece down, three to go! This one’s a little easier to find, and it’s not even in the ocean this time! The bad news is, the guy who’s got it locked up is reinventing the wheel in regards to fashion.

It turns out the third Bean Star piece is pretty to find, but actually getting it is going to take some work. They’ll need to trade it for something to make the sign for the upcoming Yoshi Theater shine brightly. And what better to do that than something that nobody Neon Eggs, which have never actually been seen in nature?

One more piece of the Bean Star left, and this one’s fallen in the woods. But its exact location seems to be in snail territory, and those snails want you to play a minigame to earn the right to walk their grounds.

The Bean Star has been retrieved, by Bowletta isn’t going to come to our front door to exchange it for Peach. Instead, she wants the Mario Brothers to take it all the way to the worst dungeon in the game, Joke’s End. So, today sees Mario and Luigi making their way over the sea in search of the drop off point.

Joke’s End is, thankfully, at an end. Or at least most of it is; only the last floor remains, but Jojora still bars the way to Bowletta’s meeting site. So, it’s time to beat up an ice teen, I guess.

The Mario Brothers’ trek up Joke’s End seems to have been for naught, as Bowletta and Fawful have both the Beanstar and Princess Peach. But, all is not as it seems. Mario and Luigi may have pulled off the infamous… double ruse.

The Beanstar is safely out of Bowletta’s hands, which can only mean one thing: the witch has decided to settle on scorched earth policy, and is using Bowser’s Castle to turn the BeanBean Kingdom to rubble before she finally claims to item she’s been after all this time. But there’s just one problem with her plan: the Mario Brothers who keep thwarting her have also been to Bowser’s Castle more than enough to storm it even under different management.

It’s time to take on the rest of Bowser’s Castle! There are still some Koopalings left, but more concerning is the fact that we haven’t seen any sign of Bowletta’s right-hand Bean Man throughout any of these halls…
