Here There Be Dragons: Let's Play Ryuutama (Anime is Real Edition)

[details=“From “The History of the Pendel Barony (3rd Edition)””]
… With the ETE a relic of the past, the Barony entered a new age of peace, one marked by a new system of representative government. The title of Baron became elected, rather than inherited, though it is no surprise that the first new Baron was Ryyan Pendel. Even though he insisted on not campaigning for the position, a majority of write-in votes bestowed it upon him anyway. After all, he was a war hero, contrary to his own recounting of the conflict. And so it was that the first elected Baron of Pendel was also its last inherited.
Under the leadership of Ryyan, with his most trusted advisors at his side (including the next Baron, a rather mysterious newcomer to the court), the Barony prospered. Refugees from the former ETE and their victims were given a new home, and laws were enacted to ensure equality and fair treatment for all peoples. With his eldest sister ruling over the Flamewrought Duchy, the diplomacy between the two was never better.
After his second term as Baron, he remodeled the Pendel family estate to serve as the home and offices of future Barons and other key officials, and then retired to Unswept. There, he became a school teacher, furnishing the school’s library with many tomes from his personal collection.
Interestingly, Ryyan Pendel never sired any children. While his sisters both produced healthy heirs, Ryyan seemed content to play the part of doting uncle. According to his personal memoirs, he never found the idea of a romantic partner especially compelling, and was happy enough acting as a part-time tutor and full time uncle for his nieces and nephews. As for the second Baron, Baron Pash, his two terms were similarly peaceful, were it not for the distressingly high amount of infidelity and scandals among his advisors…
