from Spain, France, the US, interesting and kitschy commercials welcome! let’s start off with https://www.youtube.com/embed/x-cV6T3U8dM?feature=oembed&wmode=opaque ---

Back in the 1980s the Kellogs corporation thought “how will we advertise our soluble wheat cakes?” After a little too much cocaine, the answer was reached. Skinheads! Threatening you into eating it! [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/aeC7BZgusw4/hqdefault.jpg "weetabix") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeC7BZgusw4) [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/lDQDeuPpZPc/hqdefault.jpg "80s advert Weetabix") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDQDeuPpZPc) Well, skinheads and the most Eighties cliches they could find. [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/bnVD9zCZMJ4/hqdefault.jpg "Weetabix 1986 animation") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnVD9zCZMJ4) Also some Irish ads. First, a commercial from the Irish equal marriage referendum a few years ago. Utterly awesome (and not just saying that because I know one of the stars/writers). [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/Ervtik_7jYQ/maxresdefault.jpg "ARMAGAYDDON") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ervtik_7jYQ) And, the infamous Guiness Dancing Man ad that haunted many a drunken nightmare in the Nineties. “Smash” is a brand of instant mashed potatoes in the UK. It’s known for two things - tasting like crap, and these ads from the 80s. I genuinely want to know how they got the cast together to do those, and who made them. I’m guessing they were done on set during season 2. And in case it wasn’t clear enough from those ads, Japan loves Twin Peaks. Pretty much the only place Fire Walk With Me was an immediate critical and commercial success was Japan.
