The turnaround on this mission was pretty quick, going from “drowning in quicksand” to “has overcome almost the entirety of the enemy’s base.” But one figure still stands in the way of the Resistance shutting off the jammer. And he’s… really not even trying if I’m being honest.
Once again, we find ourselves between missions with something big to do. This time, we’re dusting off that dusty Tianna Key so we can fight a Reploid of terrible strength. Some might even say they are the third strongest person in the game. Or, like, eleventh. That might sound drastic but it’ll make sense later. For now, though, know that whoever is locked away in Tianna Camp is a force to be reckoned with.
Professor Gaudile has determined that in order to make Supra-Force Metal, the Rebellion must have control over the Force Metal Refinement Plant. That seems like a place we should have been investigating anyway, so X and the crew head out to see if they can figure out what the Rebellion is planning. Little do they know, an old foe is still kicking around that same factory, and he may not be dangerous, but he is persistent.
Dr. Gaudile has figured out what the Rebellion is planning: the Supra-Force Metal they’ve gathered has been loaded into a warhead. Once detonated, every Reploid in a huge radius is going to go Maverick. Naturally, X isn’t having any of that, so there’s little to do but snatch the keys to the missile and make sure the Supra-Force Metal never sees the light of day.
Not long after returning from his last mission, X discusses what to do with the rest of the Resistance. And wouldn’t you know it, we suddenly find ourselves under attack for the first time in a while. I guess the Rebellion hasn’t really tried since Chapter 2. Ah well, we’re the only Reploids who stand a chance should things get messy, so the Maverick Hunters rush in to save the day!
… Also we fight some weird duck guy later.
