Summary
: I realized that the whole PNGtuber thing is probably confusing to someone jumping into this LP without reading all of it, so I decided to make a guide for easy reference.
What’s with all the PNGtubers?
: Originally, the only PNGtuber I had was Astra. She was meant to be part of a very dumb self-insert plotline I scrapped before it ever got off the ground.
: My second plan was to re-create actual games of Pathfinder I had played with the PNGtubers acting as stand-ins for people I actually knew.
: I then realized that might be a little mean-spirited (except for one person who ABSOLUTELY deserves it) and decided I’d instead do all original characters.
: To accomplish this, I created THE WHEEL OF BAD IDEAS. The wheel was based on two weeks or so of lurking the #vtuber and #vtuberen hashtags on Bluesky.
: I rolled the wheel four times (not counting Astra, who was already made by that point). The fifth result was something I’ve been unable to find an artist for.
: I will openly admit that I kind of enjoy writing each of them, even if I’m not great at it.

The Cast
Mara
Mara is a Buddhist demon who appears extensively in Shin Megami Tensei and Persona. This version of Mara has been forced out of Buddhist Hell due to an economic downturn and into the only thing that could possibly be worse: a Vivziepop show. The show’s wiki describes him as follows:
“Tired of years of chaos and wanton violence, Mara has (attempted) to turn over a new leaf as the owner of a host club in Hell. Unfortunately, that host club was located less than a block from the Hazbin Hotel and was promptly destroyed in the extermination at the end of Season 1. This left him with no choice but to re-open the club inside the hotel, much to his chagrin.”
Likes: Abusing game mechanics, alcohol, violence for a purpose
Dislikes: Everything about the Hellaverse

: Mara was the first roll on the wheel. I had never watched Hazbin Hotel, knew the bare minimum about it, and did not know about the show’s fanbase.
: I have since watched the entire first season. Do I like it? It’s okay.
: Mara is also the only Hazbin OC I’ve seen who is not either Lucifer’s secret other child or Lucifer’s secret second wife.
The Shape
The Shape (real name unknown) was a humble offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders (then called by a different name) when he accidentally touched a modern art sculpture that had been irradiated by alien energy and gained superpowers that had little to nothing to do with geometry.
His costume was the last one available in the shop and bespoke costumes are too expensive to wear around when you’re fighting the villain of the week. He has been 55 years old since 1968 and no one is really sure how.
His superpower is being immune to concussions and damage due to g-forces, and primarily fights by flying at full speed and punching his target.

: The Shape was supposed to be for an LP I was going to do of a game called Freedom Force, but that game doesn’t record well and is also bullshit hard.
: He is also loosely based on Frank from Shadow Hearts 3.
Astra Fischer
Astra is a five-species hybrid sparklefur. The five species are fisher cat, rabbit, raccoon, deer, and space dragon. By law, she must wear only the most fashionable of clothing. Her usual dress is based on a Versace museum piece with a 7-figure price tag.
Contrary to her appearance, she works a boring office job she doesn’t like to talk about. She streams games at night sometimes, when she’s not busy having a social life or conjuring designer outfits using forbidden ancient dragon runes (because honestly, who can afford it?)
Likes: Fashion, streaming, bars, going out with friends
Dislikes: Mara, horror movies, gore, people who can’t take anything seriously

: Astra was meant to be for a dumb self-insert plotline where she was the result of a mind flayer parasite in my head.
: Even though she was meant to be a parody (part of the joke was that they inserted the wrong parasite) I actually kind of like her.
Callie Fateburn XXVII
Callie is a Monster Girl Quest OC who is the 27th Monster Lord, living thousands of years after the final battle against Ilias and long after the deaths of Luka and Alice XVI. Since then, the monster girl population has generally become less horny and predatory - especially after the unsealing of Monster Boy Island.
She still lives in the old Monster Lord castle on Hellgondo Continent, along with her single general (a descendant of Granberia) and any other visiting monsters. Met Astra online.
Likes: Monster boys, monsters, sweet potatoes, streaming games
Dislikes: People who still think the old ways exist
